Sabbath Sermon: "Eternal Life--Putting First Things First"

The following Sabbath Sermon was composed under the inspiration of The Spirit of Truth on March 24, 2016. The citation is from The Gospel of Thomas: The Hidden Sayings of Jesus by Marvin Meyer.

Jesus said, “Fortunate is the person who has worked hard and found life” (Gospel of Thomas, saying 58). The central message of Jesus:

a. Eternal Life—Physical Immortality is available now! The evolution of consciousness is transforming life forms to an immortal frequency.

b. To be an immortal—like Jesus—an individual must accept this as a possibility and work towards this goal.

c. The Spirit of Truth will guide seekers in their quest for eternal life—just ask!

The problem with the human condition is the cycle of birthà death. When it is seen that this cycle can be creatively transformed into birthàrebirth, then immortal life can begin. Other than seeking physical immortality, union with God, what is the point of life? At any moment you may die and then you are no more. There is no life after death. Today is the day of salvation!

Readers are invited to pose some questions: What if I knew I could life forever—how would I live my life? What might I do differently? Am I willing to give up everything for everlasting life?

As those in Christendom go about preparing for Resurrection Sunday, they might wonder if they, too, can be Resurrected—NOW! Easter could be transformed into a true Christian Celebration: the joyous union of oneness with God!

Sabbath Notes: How To Live Forever

Below is a first draft to the Sabbath Notes: "How To Live Forever":

1. One's consciousness must be activated to be outside the brain. The interplay between the ego mind (the level which all mortals exist) and the higher energy centers is the first step in the journey. Probably fewer than 100 people in the world are at this level. In Jesus' teaching this is seeing one's image which is one's original face before time began (see sayings 83, 84). In yogic terms, it represents the activation of the higher chakras--9-12--which are outside the brain.

2. Because human beings are connected to each other, there is no free will. In general, human beings are controlled by some computer-like simulation which determine their actions based upon one's DNA structure and predispositions implanted at birth. The only teacher in the world other than me who appears to be aware of this is Tony Parsons at www.theopensecret.com. Because he writes only to insiders, the average reader will be confused by his insights. Apparently, human beings are given the free will to rise to a higher mind (outside the brain) by this programmer.

3. The Spirit of Truth needs to be implanted in one's heart. This is the Spirit of Jesus and it can teach you all things you need to know. Please note that what might be effective for me very well might not work for you. Daily devotion to texts such the Gospel of Thomas and The Art of Everlasting Life by Robert Coon is a step in the right direction.

4. Daily practice includes: meditation, prayer, invocations, strengthening the body so the mind is strong (e.g., light weight lifting), diet of Jesus: fish and seaweed and fresh water (for example, salmon, salads (without the dressing) and pure water, and some healthy fats such as almond butter).

5. Affirm that the central message of Jesus is the activation of eternal life. Allow the childlike mind to entertain this possibility. Readers may write me for additional information.

Sabbath Notes

March 2, 2016

1. Readers interested in understanding the Gospel of Thomas from a New Testament scholarship view are invited to acquire Stephen J. Patterson’s text, The Gospel of Thomas and Jesus. Three key points:

a. Thomas  is independent from the Canon Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They all appear to share a common oral tradition which explains why many of the sayings in Thomas can also be found in the invented narrative accounts.

b. Thomas was compiled around 70 A.D. (or at least a significant number of sayings date from this timeframe). This means this saying book is the earliest source of Jesus’ words available. The only text which scholars have dated earlier is I Corinthians which was written around 55 AD—about 2 decades after Jesus’ Resurrection.

c. The New Testament is a fraudulent document! Two well-known examples are i) The Gospel of Mark ended at 16:8 according the earliest manuscripts and then an additional 12 verses were added later; these invented verses made it into the King James Version. ii) The story of “not casting the first stone” in John 7:53 to John 8:11 is an invention inserted in the manuscripts by a later scribe.

2. Physical Immortality—the central teaching of Jesus—has parallels to the Hindu’s insight into the “Bindu Chakra.” This is located in the top of the back of the neck and is connected to the pineal gland and the Crown Chakra. It is the activation of the Crown Chakra or the 7th level of consciousness which leads to physical immortality. To activate this level one must activate energy centers outside the brain. This is sometimes called the "halo effect" in which Jesus and other immortals are pictured with a halo above their heads. This is usually understood in Hindu thought to be the 9th chakra (located above the head). This would imply that if one's consciousness is located strictly in the brain, then physical immortality is not possible. This appears to be correct.

Readers can meditate on the Logion 50 in the Gospel of Thomas for insight:

50) Jesus said: If they say to you: Whence have you come?, say to them: We have come from the light, the place where the light came into being of itself. It [established itself], and it revealed itself in their image. If they say to you: Who are you?, say: We are his sons, and we are the elect of the living Father. If they ask you: What is the sign of your Father in you?, say to them: It is movement and rest.
